The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA), with the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the African Green Revolution Alliance (AGRA), Suguba Africa and with the collaboration of other institutional partners, would like to invite you to the Pitching Day of the Pitch AgriHack 2018 Finals.
Pitch AgriHack aims at accelerating e-agriculture entrepreneurship for improved livelihoods in the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries. It targets start-ups founded by young male and female entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35 years. 26 start-ups offering ICT services to the agriculture/agri-food sector, will be involved in capacity building, mentorship, incubation activities and will be pitching eventually. They come from 9 countries (Nigeria, Kenya, Benin, Uganda, Ghana, Jamaica, Togo, Suriname and Rwanda) and have been selected out of 325 young AgriTech start-ups that applied.
The theme of this year is “Women entrepreneurs innovate for agricultural transformation in ACP countries“. 50% of finalists are women-led start-ups.
We are inviting business angels, venture capitals, entrepreneurs, development agencies, agriculture and ICT industry experts and professionals to participate in the event as delegates on the 06th September 2018 at the pitching event (Room AD12). You will have the opportunity to interact with the startups and may eventually identify deals/business opportunities.
This invitation targets stakeholders who can be in Kigali on the pitching, or are resident in Kigali. CTA will not support travel or accommodation costs.
You can find a list of all the startups who will be pitching at the event HERE
Best participants of the AgriHack Talent initiative have so far have benefited from more than USD 2 million (investment and grants from various national and international parties). One million of users (mostly farmers) have been reached by services provided the services offered by these start-ups.
