The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA www.cta.int), in collaboration with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the support of partners including the Centre for Agricultural Bioscience International (CABI) and mLab East Africa, would like to invite you to the Pitching Day of the Pitch AgriHack Finals.
Pitch AgriHack aims at accelerating e-agriculture entrepreneurship for improved livelihoods and food security. It targets startups founded by young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35 years, from Africa, Caribbean and Pacific countries. There will be 25 Startups offering ICT services to the agri-food sector, which will be involved in capacity building activities and will be pitching eventually. They come from 16 countries (including Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, Botswana, St Kitts and Nevis, Benin, Ghana, Ivory Coast) and have been selected out of 152 agtech startups.
We are inviting business angels, venture capitals, entrepreneurs, development agencies, agriculture and ICT industry experts and professionals to participate in the event as delegates on the 23rd November 2016 at the pitching event. You will have the opportunity to interact with the startups and may eventually identify deals/business opportunities.
You can find a list of all the startups who will be pitching at the event HERE
Pitch AgriHack is a new component of the AgriHack Talent Programme which was launched since 2013. The Programme has involved over 600 young innovators and entrepreneurs from various countries, providing capacity building, business networking opportunities and supporting the creation of ICT products and startups for the agriculture sector.
